Welcome to Girls' Engineering Club!
We're excited to announce one of the newest volunteer opportunity in the JETS organization! GEC is an amazing opportunity to get real firsthand experience with mentoring young girls in unfortunate circumstances and underprivileged environments who might not otherwise have access to a high-quality education in STEM. Every visit consists of a brief lesson about a science or engineering topic, a hands-on experiment or build, and a recap to apply the experiment to the real world. These girls are incredibly bright, and it's a blast working with them and fellow volunteers. Please contact Tracy Khong if you have any questions!

Vera (bottom left), an avid participant of Girls' Engineering Club, is teaching volunteers Uyen (top right), Jennifer (top center), Liang (top right), and Cindy (bottom right) how to make a monocular using a plastic water bottle after finishing with her elevator project. Peppa Pig, one of Vera's favorite TV show characters, is featured in Jennifer's and Cindy's zoom backgrounds.

Volunteer Info
GEC volunteering is open to both TAMS Juniors and Seniors. This year, we will be reaching out to Koan School in Denton. A couple of days before each outreach, volunteers will attend a brief orientation to get familiar with the STEM topic that they will later be teaching to the girls.
